Our Family History
The Brister Family originated in Hamilton County Florida in the vicinity of the city of Jasper. The Family Tree started with William and Julia Brister and has grown into a prosperous and sprawling tree.
Today, the Brister Family is concentrated in the Southeast but family member are located throughout the United States. Over the years the Family name has been spelled "Brister", "Bristol", and "Bristo". Even to this day, you will meet family members who carry a last name in one of the variations.
The Family Reunion was formalized in the 1970s by Louise Tobler and Irene Thomas. The traditional gathering of the family has endured in some form or fashion ever since.
